AVER was founded in 2013 by Chris Hartline and Brian Sluyter with a simple belief: organizations achieve their greatest success when technology, process, and people come together to solve meaningful challenges.

Before entering the federal consulting industry in the late 1990s, Chris served in the United States Navy, where he developed a deep appreciation for mission focus, teamwork, accountability, and service. Those values would later become foundational to AVER’s culture and approach to client delivery.

Chris and Brian first worked together at a small consulting firm, where they recognized the power of combining their complementary strengths to drive mission success. Chris brought extensive experience in business development, customer engagement, and strategic growth, while Brian contributed deep expertise in technology consulting, solution delivery, and operational excellence. Together, they saw an opportunity to build a company based on their values that could deliver impactful results, while creating a culture centered on trust, innovation, and people.

With a focus in National Security and a foundation of innovating to success, their vision began to take shape. What started as a small business built on relationships, hard work, and a commitment to excellence quickly gained momentum. As AVER earned the trust of its customers, the company expanded its capabilities, workforce, and impact across the federal marketplace.

From winning their first GWAC in 2016 through today, AVER has experienced significant growth while remaining true to the principles on which it was founded. The company has evolved into a trusted partner providing federal agencies with technology modernization, mission support, data-driven solutions, and innovation expertise. AVER stands ready to help our clients innovate at a pace never seen before through our AI-enabled Management Platform (AMP), available through our SBIR Phase III, to achieve results that move the mission.
